Dear GÖNET participants,

an urgent security update on vpn.gwdg.de and a part of the university and computer centre firewalls is necessary:

Timeframe: Thu 09.11. 5 - 7 pm
Affected: vpn.gwdg.de and ‘old’ firewall areas
Impact: According to the manufacturer and our experience, none.

Due to a security vulnerability that became known at short notice, we have to we have to install an update spontaneously today during the maintenance window. As all devices are redundant, our experience and the manufacturer’s manufacturer’s information, no failures are to be expected apart from a few lost to be expected.
