Issue

In order to make the use of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN more secure, all users of this service will, starting from Wednesday (December 11, 2024), receive an email from the GWDG as soon as they log in to Cisco AnyConnect for the first time with a new IP address.

This email will state your username and IP address and ask whether the login was actually made by you.

If you did not perform the login, the email will urge you to change your password immediately and to contact support@gwdg.de by email.

This measure has been introduced to ensure that unauthorized access can be quickly identified.

These notifications will only be sent for logins from new IP addresses. Re-logging in from the same IP address will not trigger another notification.
