Service Gitlab seems to be down

gitlab.gwdg.de was not available on Friday, 21 February 2025, between approx. 3 am and 10 am.

The cause was a failed database migration during an upgrade, in which entries were changed that would normally only affect Premium / Ultimate instances, but which still existed in our database from the time of the Ultimate licence. This special case was not considered in the manufacturer’s migration scripts.

Service is back up.

According to our monitoring system this service has become unresponsive, we’re investigating.
