This morning between approx. 06:30 and 07:10, a problem with a mass storage system led to a partial failure of the OpenStack cloud and S3 infrastructure. The VMs and S3 buckets running on this mass storage system were affected. Both areas have been fully available again since approx. 07:10.
In the past, similar outages have led to a “freeze” of the mass storage access of the affected VMs for the duration of the outage, without more serious problems such as read-only file systems in the VMs occurring. We assume that this is also the case here. Nevertheless, it would make sense to check the VMs.
