Rocket.Chat: Correction of some usersnames by renaming from 2022-10-06 17:00 CEST to 2022-10-06 19:00 CEST

Next Thursday, 6th Oct, between 5pm and 7pm, some users of the Rocket.Chat service will have their usernames within the service renamed. This renaming is necessary due to changes in GWDG’s identity management which resulted in a change of the naming scheme for usernames. A divergence of usernames in the service and the identity management causes a new account to be created when logging in to a new client or device instead of signing in to an existing account for some users. The renaming will not affect the current content of these accounts nor their discoverability in the service or affect other GWDG services. This applies to just over 800 user accounts.

Operation of the service will not be limited during the change unless a roll-back of the changes becomes necessary, which is very unlikely. In the event of a roll-back messages created in that time frame would be lost.
