On April 16, 2026, the OpenVPN profiles in eduVPN will be disabled.
Existing VPN connections will not be affected by this change. After that, only WireGuard profiles will be available when logging in with the eduVPN client
Thanks to improvements in the implementation of the WireGuard protocol in eduVPN, it should now work in every guest environment. Since the OpenVPN protocol is more resource-intensive, more complex to configure, and slower, we are removing it.
