Discontinuation von Rocket.Chat

GWDG has prepared the discontinuation of the Rocket.Chat service and will offer an alternative service based on Matrix. The new service is planned for some time in September 2024. Every current user of Rocket.Chat is also eligible to use Matrix. A means of migrating most user content to Matrix is in preparation for users choosing to do so.

Clients

Für den Matrix-Dienst der GWDG können die üblichen Clients aus den typischen Quellen für PC- und Mobil-Geräten verwendet werden. Der empfohlene Client ist hierbei “Element” von https://element.io/download. Die Benutzung der Webseite des Dienstes ist aber ebenso möglich und bietet die gleiche Funktionalität.

Die Verwendung von anderen Clients ist grundsätzlich möglich, es kann aber zu Einschränkungen kommen, wenn die Clients bestimmte Teile des Protokolls nicht implementiert haben.

Weitere Hinweise oder Anleitungen zur der Übernahme von Inhalten werden veröffentlicht, wenn der Dienst allgemein freigegeben ist.
